commissions

Every piece begins as an intensive optical study—a high-resolution capture engineered to reveal the micro-textures, geometric precision, and surface character of your object at a scale rarely seen.

The resulting print is produced using museum-grade pigment inks on heavy cotton archival paper, offering exceptionally rich depth and long-term stability.

Each work is custom-framed to architectural scale: face-mounted or suspended in solid hardwood moulding with anti-reflective, UV-blocking museum glass. The finished piece is delivered fully housed and ready to anchor your space as a single, custom creation.

The Commission Experience

Working with the studio is a collaborative, white-glove process from initial concept through final delivery. Here is how we bring your object to life:

Consultation & Subject Evaluation

We begin with a conversation about your item, its story, and the space. Working with me directly is a process designed to fit seamlessly into your timeline.

Initial Consultation & Object Review

We start with a conversation to look at your object, either through photos or in person. We discuss the stories behind the piece, the room where the work will hang, and the ideal final dimensions for your space.

Matting, Framing & Material Selection

Together, we choose the housing materials that complement both the photograph and your interior. We select from solid hardwood profiles—such as natural oak, walnut, or painted finishes—along with custom matting widths and archival mounting options to match your aesthetic.

Studio Capture & Optical Study

Your object is brought into the studio, cataloged, and cleaned. Using specialized macro lighting setups, we capture every texture, edge, and patina at extreme high resolution to prepare the image for large-scale printing.

Archival Fabrication

We print your study on heavy, museum-grade cotton paper using archival pigment inks. The piece is then hand-framed behind anti-reflective, UV-blocking museum glass to ensure maximum clarity and long-term protection.

White-Glove Delivery

Once fabrication is complete, your finished work is delivered personally, or securely crated and shipped directly to you, ready for your home team or interior designer to hang.

Subject Selection

Commissions are not limited to ancient artifacts or century-old family heirlooms. The studio works with objects across the full spectrum of personal history—from cherished heritage pieces to contemporary personal icons that reflect your current passions, achievements, or design aesthetic.

What matters most is not an item's age, but its tactile character, geometric form, and personal meaning.

Personal Interests & Contemporary Icons

Objects that reflect what drives you today carry incredible weight when elevated to architectural scale.

  • Design & Craft: Mechanical watch movements, bespoke tailoring details, vintage camera lenses, custom knives, architectural drafts, or fine instruments.

  • Passions & Pastimes: Specialized sporting equipment, vintage race gear, tailored leather gloves, modern design specimens, or singular collectibles.

  • Milestones & Achievements: An item### Selecting Your Subject

The most compelling studies balance personal resonance with physical texture. Commissions are not limited to antique heirlooms—they are equally suited to contemporary objects, modern tools, or personal equipment that reflect your current passions and lifestyle.

When evaluating an item for a study, consider three core qualities:

Surface History & Tactile Character

Objects that carry micro-details respond dramatically to studio light control. Whether it is the worn patina of a 19th-century bronze compass or the intricate stitching and composite weave of modern cycling shoes, surface texture creates depth at monumental scale.

Form & Sculptural Presence

Items with distinct geometry, mechanical transparency, or organic lines translate exceptionally well into fine art portraiture. Architectural fragments, vintage timepieces, musical instruments, specialized sporting gear, or custom industrial components all hold strong spatial presence.

Personal Resonance & Passion

Above all, the subject should hold meaning. A commission can honor a inherited family artifact or celebrate a current obsession—a prized camera lens, a key from a landmark property, an archive piece from a private collection, or equipment tied to a personal milestone.
